10-Year Agreement Secures 550 Million kWh of Green Power Supply
Tianneng Green Energy and Kingstate announced on August 17 the signing of a 10-year green power purchase agreement, with a total supply volume of 550 million kWh, scheduled to begin in January 2027. This collaboration will assist Kingstate in increasing its renewable energy usage and accelerating its progress toward fulfilling its RE100 and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) carbon reduction commitments.
Alex Tang, General Manager of Tianneng Green Energy, stated that corporate green power procurement is no longer just about complying with regulations but also about ensuring long-term and stable access to green energy. With the growth in electricity demand driven by AI applications in high-tech industries such as semiconductors, the need for green power among enterprises has become increasingly urgent. This agreement will provide Kingstate with a stable source of green energy, supporting its carbon reduction goals.
Kingstate Accelerates Carbon Reduction Efforts
Kingstate joined the global renewable energy initiative RE100 in 2023 and has pledged to increase its renewable energy usage to 60% by 2040. In June of this year, Kingstate passed the SBTi’s review of its near-term carbon reduction targets, further strengthening its decarbonization efforts. The two companies have been collaborating on green power supply since 2023, with an initial cumulative transaction volume of approximately 39 million kWh. This 10-year agreement will significantly expand the scale of their cooperation.
As one of Taiwan’s top three wafer testing companies, Kingstate’s collaboration not only aids in achieving its carbon reduction targets but also reflects the rapid growth in green power demand within Taiwan’s semiconductor industry amid global supply chain decarbonization pressures. As electricity demand in high-tech industries continues to rise, long-term green power agreements have become a crucial strategy for enterprises to ensure stable energy supply.
Tianneng Green Energy Leads Private Green Power Sales
Tianneng Green Energy, a subsidiary of Cloud Leopard Energy Group, has been actively expanding its green power supply in recent years. According to the Energy Bureau’s monthly sales reports, Tianneng Green Energy’s green power supply volume reached nearly 420 million kWh in 2025, with transactions in the first half of 2026 already totaling 305 million kWh, securing its position as the leading private green power seller in Taiwan. Tianneng Green Energy stated that it will integrate power generation projects under the Cloud Leopard Energy Group and external partner plants to expand green power sources and meet long-term corporate electricity demand.
Alex Tang noted that as global supply chain decarbonization requirements increase, green power procurement has become a key component of corporate energy management. Tianneng Green Energy will continue to expand its green power transaction scale and provide energy management services to help enterprises increase their green power usage while enhancing long-term energy supply resilience. This collaboration with Kingstate not only demonstrates Tianneng Green Energy’s leadership in the green power supply market but also provides strong support for the green transformation of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
